Movie Idea - Criticise honestly.

I have had an idea for a film.

4 young boys around, 13, want to fight for America in Vietnam. They ask the army if they can fight but they are told to go away and leave it to the professionals. But the boys are undettered by this set back and sneak into a helicopter tranporting weaponry and supplies to the soldiers in Vietnam. While stowing away on the flight they steal some weapons and food from the cargo. When the helicopter makes it to Vietnam, they sneak out again and hide in the trees, secretly protecting the camp from intruders. All goes well until there is a night time raid of the camp and a battle ensues. The boys loose their nerve and run away into the jungle. Once there they get lost and can't find their way back. The horrors of Vietnam start to get to them and they start to turn against each other...

Please tell me what you think.

Sounds good, I like vietnam films and I've seen every one that I know exists. I am yet to see one that is anything like your idea.

mmm...
why not make a film about a group of veitnamese boys in the war? They get lost and see find out for themselves how veitnam has been done, many, many times!
Try to think of something totally different...and dont say that it isnt possible...inspiration from soike jonze...a doorway to someones head...genious!!

Or stick to your original idea, which is great, and here's a suggestion, and you could add a twist, like one of the boys goes missing and they're not sure whether they should try to rescue him or not.

Sounds like a good idea.
I am not sure if a helicopter could fly from U.S. to there. Look into that to make sure.
Also you could have them witness the atocities of war like our soldiers killing vietnamese civilians, drug use,etc...

No a chopper could not fly from the US to Vietnam, but maybe they could stow away on a cargo plane.

This film would be very expensive to make.

This movie would entirely depend on your angle.
You could make it a completely serious, war is hell, type movie or go for the Space Camp, Walt D is god, type movie.
Same story, completely different results.
